Hidden in Plain Sight
This artwork was a pivotal piece in my practice.
When I was preparing for my first solo exhibition, it showed me we don’t all see the same way when looking at the same thing.

One out of ten people I asked, saw two trees when they looked at this mind drawing.
Whereas nine out of ten people I asked, saw a figure or person first.
When two people standing together saw something different to each other, something interesting always happened.
They showed each other what it was that they saw, wanting to ensure the other person understood their view, and why it made sense.
This raises questions about effective conversations. If we don’t use our words to make sure we are talking about the same thing, differences in how we see will affect our communication.
